About Me:

How should I start this? With whom you see, what you see, or what you are hearing? I could have had a professional writer create this and graciously brag about all of my musical accomplishment, but I have none. So why lie? I’m just a man with a passion, a story, a dream, and a vision that God has blessed me to share. No one can get you to feel me better than I can, and will. This business of music, my life--in music, is a constant struggle but I love it. Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Retro…CEO of what you’re listening to…We all have a story to tell and this is mine…

What you have just read is an excerpt from my autobiography. I am a producer and CEO of my record label, Upper Echelon Entertainment. I am 40 years old and I have cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a birth defect that affects the cerebral part of the brain, which controls the muscle coordination. I have been confined to a wheelchair since birth. Every since I can remember, music has been a part of my life. From lying on the floor for hours in front of the stereo speakers, listening to the different station genres, to playing whatever melody on the piano that I could arrange with two fingers, I knew the passion and love for music was in me.

After my first stint in college, I focused heavily on my love for music. While not being able to release the music that was in my head, I knew I had to get involved in it somehow. My infactuation with poetry would soon take over. This combination of words and music would soon be my world. I was going to be the first handicapped rapper. This passion would take me all over the country, from recording in the major recording studios of New York City to hanging out backstage with stars at the American Music Awards. A major recording contract was offered to me with one catch…I had to be a disabled ex-gang member. With the emergence of “gangster rap” and my persona, the record label knew they had a winner. Yes, I could have pulled it off but my heart would’nt let me. I knew God made me handicapped for a reason and to deceive people was not it. I had to get focused and re-focus…Until it was my time. With the help of computer generated music producing programs, such as fruitiloops and reasons, my time is now.

Now, I have 2 degrees and working towards my masters in psychology, CEO/PRODUCER of my independent record company, Upper Echelon Ent. and leader of a group of talented entertainers called CTK: CERTIFIED TRACK KILLERS.
