What's up Hits A Million family!
Instead of having the traditional Official Chat time on Hits A Million, I've found an even better way for us to stay connected and find out what's up with each other. The great thing about this is that you CAN chat with others on your phone as well.
I'm talking about Twitter.com! Twitter.com is quickly surpassing MySpace's popularity. (Don't get rid of your MySpace page just yet though). In fact, Twitter is so popular that Facebook has now tried to emulate what Twitter does by changing its front page. Twitter is it though. It's the new way of chatting with professionals.
Some of the Hits family have joined us on Twitter.com. Have you joined yet? Guess who else is on Twitter besides me? Lots of people you would want to network with: Thedy B (:-), JD, Bryan-Michael Cox, Diddy, Janelle Monae, Solange Knowles, Danjahandz, Kevin Liles, and so many more in every field!! It's a great way to find out who's looking for what, what someone is doing, where someone is going, what's hot right now in the industry, what an event is really like as people blog right from the event! It's a great way to tell people what you are doing.
You don't typically have to wait to follow people either. You can simply follow some of your favorite people and engage them. Don't be upset if they don't follow you back; what's important is that you gain knowledge just by being able to follow their lives and conversation.
I joined Twitter long ago and hated it when I first joined. Not many people were using it at the time. JaWar encouraged me to keep at it, follow more people, engage people, and now more and more people are on it and the site is now fun. I've been on there heavily. I've learned about networking opportunities, met some more industry professionals, learned a little more about what's going on in the lives of the Hits family, and been able to share with people what I'm doing even at the time I'm doing it. I suggest you join and don't get left behind!
