Which do you think is the best! I'm not familiar with much other than FL Studio, so Imag-Line gets my vote. Which do you prefer? Why? Let's discuss it! LoL

I say Logic, but it's because I can tweak any and everything. When your a control freq. like me, that helps. Just try and use as many as possible before you settle on one. And don't abandon any before you really figure it out. You'll decide which one you can work best.

I say Reason as far as production because a few reasons, 1) its expandability, 2) the ability to create, combine and save sounds 3) user friendly. It's like a real studio rack that you see as hardware in the studios but its on a computer and you can tweek and move wires just as an engineer would. I am a control freak too forever turning nobs.

I am an advocate for Fruity Loops since it use to be my everything, lol. When I want to go hard at sampling, FL is like my MPC if that makes any sense. Like Jon said dont abandon any DAW until you have exercised all of its features and thats hard to do becasue its endless. Instead learn as much as you can from alot of the DAWs and you will see it will be like going to war and having an arsenal of weapons to use. Either way depending on your aim.....you gone hit something.

Logic with the Reason Rewire.... you have two of the best Daws all rolled into one.... cant beat that.

Well I've only tried Reason and FL. I started out with FL, went over to reason, and now I kinda sorta use them both together.

One of the most dramatic changes I saw when switching to reason is its sequencer is SOOOOO much better. The quantitizing option in Reason is 99% of the time accurate and always records on point. When I record in FL it is always off, and even when I quantitize it's still off. I can't tell you how many hours I used to waste moving my notes to their proper place in the sequencer for FL after recording. So overall I love reason for recording instruments.

However, when it comes to drums I LOVE FL. I find making "rolls" in FL 10x better then Reason. Plus, every once in awhile when I choose to sample I prefer FL.

One of the big downsides to Reason though is the no plug-in thing. Not the greatest idea in the world.

Anyway, their both great programs!

Awww the days when I had FL and no controller...man the Piano Roll was my best and worse friend for pluggin in notes, lol.

Yea Reason sucks for not having the plug in feature but hey had to wake up from the dream on day. I use FL to sample from then spit it out as waves and plug em in Reason Redrum. Reason doesnt come with an 808 unless you get an 808 Refill, I just took the 808 from FL and plugged it into Reason Redrum and made my own 808. Beautiful when you need it.

I use REASON 4.0 the most and use Logic Pro 8 the rest of the time. I hate being locked into one system so I use different daws to keep interest up. I've used FL Studio but wasn't really impressed. Sequel is ok too.

hi everyone i'm new to the group ... nice to be here!!! thanks for the invite monster...........i use to use fruityloops back in the day i found it to be a very easy. It also teachs you about music structure timeing spacing..16 8 4 ... bars.... you also had mouse contact with hundreds of knobs on the interface that responded immediatly even when the host computer was slow....had tons of sounds and break beats plus it was even easier to find sounds on the web and their user forums....had lots of sound module plugins....very cool interface.......i liked the idea of logic but it was annoying having to render a track before i used it.......then i was introduced to Pro tools... its been a great relationship ever since lol... bottom line...if your a creative person you can use anything to create...if your a real musician you want a lil more human control over the mchines and the instruments...hail to the mpc 4000 and the korg triton pro....anyway ..have a great day people...sufferahsmusic

Hey People, My weapon of choice is logic. Man the possibilities are endless great plug ins, spot on editing, now you can comp vocals together with easy, it has a fat sound about it not so sterile. I love logic and when rewired with Reason 4 well lets just say no sleep for days.
