What recording program do you use?

I use Pro Tools 7.3. I have Logic and Reason but don't use those two. How about you? Which recording programs do you use?

When i am in making music mode, the last thing i do is make a music. All i do is create, turning this knob to see what would happen, combining these 2 or 5 sounds to see what happens. 80% of my time i spend experimenting teaching myself new methods of creation. All this is going on before an artist drops by. The other 20% is the easy part, making the music. The concept, arrangements, new lil ideas to make a song fitwith the concept. A million things are free flowing in the creation process. All of this on an average takes 15 minutes to an hour. there is no ned to rush or go slow. I just go how i m feeling and so far the esult speak for themselves.

I work on my weak areas to me and also what some people "say" is not good. I use that as a footstone because that only diversifies my craft and makes me better as a producer. Dont want to give ya'll too much in the first discussion. Besides only I can do me just like only you can do you. Thats what makes music unique

I have almost the same setup as Monster except I use Reason 4.0, FL 7, and I record my vocals through Pro Tools M-Powered. I also have a rack Korg Triton keyboard.

I try to find as many different sounds as possible. I have a gang of soft synths and refills. My creation process actually starts in my head. Everyday I have a gang of melodies and songs going through my head. I have to record each melody or hook i come up with into my blackberry as a voicenote. Its crazy, so when I start creating the track the voicenote i recorded starts off most of my projects. If it was so easy to do voice notes back in the day and there were DAW applications growing up, there's no telling what my career would be like right now.

For creating original custom loops/songs, that I create from my XP-50, and recording vocals, I use a digital recorder and render to a wave format with:
Sound Forge
Various plug-ins are later used to eq and for effects

For creating samples from songs previously recorded, adding vocals and mixdown:
Acid Pro
Sound Forge with WAVE plug-ins
Cool Edit/Adobe Audition


For mastering: Sound Forge (latest edition) with WAVE mastering plug-ins
