we have to realize one thing. everyone was not happy to see a black man on the podium. the struggle is not over. if we cannot get past our own fears, anger, isolation, self hate, ignorance, and past it would have all been for naught. make one thing clear. we have won a battle but the war is just beginning.

i read where one person said that after obama won whites were at her door screaming racial slurs. i've said it before and will say it again we are still niggas in some peoples eyes, even our own. know is not the time to celebrate it is the time to regroup and mobilize.

i believe that this site is the best networking site i have been on. over 20% of us are active in the forums and groups. some can not boast such numbers. this site is very focused, well regulated and positive. this is a model of what needs to be done on a national level.

I absolutely agree!!! We have much more work to do...YES we did!!! But we got a long way to go in our communities, families, and even with each other. We must commit to service and servicing America. We must start to volunteer and become involved effortlessly. I pray and hope that people don't think that they can just live off of the high of having a black President. Everything is not miraculously going to be ok. Step 1 was getting registered to vote (if you never was registered). Step 2 was actually voting. Step 3 is putting in work.

We have a lot of work to do and change ultimately begins with you first.

THANK YOU my brotha. I KNEW you'd hold me down. I just left an earful on Facebook yesterday about this same thing. I refuse to trip about "change" until I see people on ground level putting their hands to work for it. I've got ideas, and I'm definitely looking to implement some of them to bring a physical existence to a mental ideology.

i've been doing the same thing. people act like the storm is over. we are just in the eye of the needle and the storm just reversed direction and now we're moving in the same direction. we were shocked in cali to see georgia fall to the rebulicans.

Barack Obama is a politician and not a messiah...a piece of one man's dream has been brought into fruition but absolutely the struggle continues and vigilance is imperative. We are a society within a society at war within our communities against drugs, needless violence, wanton femicide of our sisters and false perceptions of what manhood is about. Our elderly and youth are hostages and prisoners within their own neighborhoods, education has been devalued and sadly, many think freedom has now finally arrived...we are still strangers in a strange land. No one can address these things but ourselves..."greet one/teach one"!!
