Are you still in love with R & B?

I see a lot of the major acts are moving to pop. Seems as if people aren't buying as much R & B. That could be attributed to a lot of different things but I wanted to find out if you're still in love with R & B? Were you disappointed at some of the normal acts turning pop like Brandy, Michelle Williams, Beyonce, and Chris Brown?

Well Theby I will always love R&B and Soul in its purer form and I believe with undiscovered artist who stay true to that form getting more access to audiences. via the internet, that their will eventually be a resurgence in this styles of music But I must say that most of what gets labeled R&B today isn't the R&B I remember any way. As far as the aforementioned artist moving to Pop. In my opinion Pop simply means that you have crossed over to multiple cultures and multiple genres and have the sales to support that no matter which genre you got your start in.

no, I know what you mean that pop is considered crossover music but pop music also has a sound.

there's plenty of music that has crossed over to other cultures: hip hop and jazz for one but they don't call that pop music.

Hell, I DO when it comes to hip hop. Hip Pop.

But I agree with Jeep; I'm always a fan when it's pure. I'll never walk away from a WHOLE GENRE because of a bad season because I know there's people out there getting lesser attention and making better music. I'll just put my ear to the street instead of to the radio for my R&B.

Word up! to much of what you said Jeep! You know what R&B is these days? Rhymes and bullshit! You know what R&B was originally? Rock N Roll baby!!! Chuck Berry! Little Richard! I advise everyone out there who hasn't learned how to perform yet to check out Little Richard on YouTube!!! Then R&B was Sam Cooke and...well, I'm not gonna get into a history lesson here, but lets just say that 60s R&B was amazing! 70s R&B was awesome too, but Disco(although a cool music genre) took its toll on R&B...for the worse, I think. This resulted in 80s R&B, a lot of which was cool, but a lot of which was SOME OF THE WORST MUSIC EVER!!! Then video killed the radio star, DJs put bands in ICU (R&B moreso than other genres), and the 90s was mixing vocal acrobatics with terrible lyrics & hip-hop beats, and there you have it. R&B SUCKS!!!!! NEO HASN'T HELPED R&B. NOT REALLY. In order for it to return to its glory, new singers must study Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, etc. THANK YOU & GOODNIGHT!

Hey Thedy--To me...................Its still R&B. Its labled Pop, and has a lil Pop to it so that different persuasions can get in on the act and gain mass legitmacy....if ya know what I mean?!--Well ---thats just my opinion!!
