Hey y'all... I'm Mizz Rikki, owner and operator of MizzEllaneous.com. I've been involved in the back end operations of the entertainment industry as a side gig since the late 80s and through many turns and twists in life, I've found myself back in entertainment.

MizzEllaneous offers administrative support to the industry so artists and execs can concentrate on the business at hand. While Mizz can be categorized as a virtual assistant, I'm not just any VA. I've worked at one of the top 10 radio stations in the country in studio and programming, I've had training in writing copy for radio and tv and audio and video production and editing using Audition, ProTools, Avid and FinalCut. For 9 years I worked for Bacardi Limited in customer service, trading and financial reporting; worked in Crash, Fire, Rescue and for the Bermuda Department of Tourism. I have a degree in Business Management, and am currently working on a second degree in Project Management. I'm also a single mom so multi-tasking, scheduling and organizing are also strengths of mine. I've also been known to encourage others to explore an avenue they haven't thought of before, and it happens to work out great.

Even though I don't fit in the category of artist or exec, I joined this group not only for potential client referrals, but to offer resources where I can. I found this group after being on the Music Business Telewebinar last night; if you missed the calls this week, you'd do well to get on them next week. It's definitely worth the investment.

I just heard a discussion on radio today about artists who pass out music that isn't mixed or mastered properly, and how that can affect your chances of getting on air. I feel the same way with presenting your package - imaging, correct spelling and grammar.

I won't take up any more space, but please stop by and drop me a line. ETA: I'm in the Atlanta area but work with anyone, anywhere, because my business is totally virtual!

Mizz Rikki, glad to have you. I've been looking for an assistant in the ATL area! Let's talk. I'd be interested in hearing more and finding out if we could work together. I probably need someone who is not solely virtual though.

I agree on the tele-webinar. It's good information. I've been on all the calls and of course, last night I was one of the panelists. I'm looking forward to hearing next week's sessions. For those who want to see what they will be talking about next week, go to the events section on here. Plus, the great thing about this seminar is that when you pay, you get access to the sessions you missed! And you can replay them at your convenience!

Hey what up yall. My name is Larnell stage name Black Kadafi. Im 29 years old and im from Chicago. Im a rap artist plus the CEO of KING & EMP ENTERTAINMENT. Its up and comin soon. Im also VP of the #3 internet radio station on the US and thats WGCR.US. We only play local and unsigned artist as well as old school mainstream, gospel, and have a talk show. Since 13 I wanted to be a rap artist to get my talents out there and get paid. When I was 18 I graduated highschool and went to Columbia College in Chicago to learn the muzik business. Reality set in and there were two things I learned from there. 1) You can learn all the books and paper sheets all you want but aint nothing like the hands on training. 2) the artist is the last one to be paid. What I mean is that as an artist runnin round sayin im the coldest and this and that. But dont even know what music publishing is or what it mean. So what an artist need to know is this muzik business cause if not they will get ate up and thrown in the garbage. So because of that I decided not to just be an artist but a CEO/manager as well. People like Jay-Z Ludacris, Rick Ross, etc that is a rap artist but that have there own record company. So what that mean is they have control of there own product and that there making 80 to 90% of the profit instead of making 5-10% profit. So im on the business side as well. I have one artist that is tight and that is marketable. I got the talent so I dont want my skillz to go to waist so im going to continue writing and try to get my muzik out that. www.myspace.com/theblackkkadafi is my page and anyone who want to network or do a callab with me please dont hesitate. Im humble, real, and open minded. Thats why I joined this site so we can be as one.
