The premiere social network for music industry professionals

You just never know who people are, what people do, what connections you can make and have, and where that person may take you. So introduce yourself to each other: send a comment, or post who you are here in this forum. Let's make some connections! I'm telling y'all these social networking sites work when we work them! Some of you are here because of friendships. Some need what you have. Some can learn. Some can share. So don't just "park here" - meet, greet, and socialize! (:-) And don't forget to post, start a discussion, start a group, post some pictures, share your videos. Let's make this site a music business family site!

I personally look forward to meeting each and every one of you!

That's horrible: what happened was that your post was long so when I hit the reply to this button, I couldn't see your name. I just knew it started with an M. LOL! My bad! (:-)

Hey, I go by the alias Synthonio and I am a music producer from Harlem, NYC also learning the craft of audio engineering. I've been making instrumentals since the sixth grade, and i am currently approaching my sophomore year in college. I have used both hardware and software to make my music, and I would ideally like to use both in the future at the same time cohesively. I also am getting back to writing songs, and networking with people I know trying to meet new faces when I can. I enjoy creativity and seriousness about the music.

My music myspace page is

http://www.myspace.com/synthoniomuzik

Please visit me, add me and most importantly and most appreciated are comments and feedback, enthusiastic and professional alike.

Who I'd say I sound like:
Producer influences are Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Pete Rock, Darkchild, B Cox, R Kelly and Paul Oakenfold.
I listen to as much as I can and try to not restrict myself to one genre. I say, if it sounds good, it's worth listening to, whether it's Bluegrass, Trance, Classical, Experimental, or Whatever.

what's living in NYC like? Do you feel it's an easier or harder music scene to break into?

Honestly, I'd say it's hard hard hard here. We've got Rocafella, Universal Music Group, Def Jam, and many more places, not to mention if you're trying to do anything hip hop, NY is the birthplace of hip-hop, right? You can almost forget trying to do anything in NY with hip hop with the way it is right now as it pertains to business. Whereas before, if you were hot and the right person heard you, that was that and your exposure took off like a rocket. Nowadays with musicians and engineers making the studio tools available to anyone, the pretenders and posers make it so much harder for true artists to shine.

It's all a matter of who you know. Connects are EVERYTHING!!! That's one reason why I appreciate social networks and things much like this one. I've been to ATL once before, and I found it real laid back and hospitable. Alot slower than NY, but then again, what place is faster than NY?

LOL! Yeah, NYC is no joke on its speed. Well, hopefully you'll make some connects here on hitsamillion.blogspot.com. I'd love for this site to be one of the reasons your career takes off!

And I totally agree with you about making connections. It's the get-in card of the music business.

I have still have a good bit of connects in the area. After I get me some sleep, I'll have a listen to your music and hit you back.
